Bill Brooks

– Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar , & Band Leader

Bill Brooks, the heart and soul behind our band, received his first guitar at the age of 14 and never looked back. By the time he was 15, Bill had started his first band, playing lead vocals and rhythm guitar at high school dances.

His natural talent for managing and promoting his group soon led him to convince local bars and nightclubs to hire them, despite being young. The highlight of this early period in his career was securing a regular spot on a weekly TV show.

Bill knows Big Island’s live music scene. His connection to the music industry spans decades and includes roles as assistant director of the Newport Music Festival, co-producer of a Kool & The Gang concert, and production consultant for the Kona Blues Society and the HPD Battle of the Bands. He was also the original co-producer of the Waiki’i Music Festival for its first four years. In the mid-90s, Bill formed his band Expresso, which regularly played live music across the Big Island and at the Holuakoa Café.

Over 20 years ago, Bill founded Fullhouse Band, where he continues as band leader, the lead vocalist, backup singer, and rhythm guitarist. His love for music and dedication to live performances are the driving forces behind the band’s success.

Howard Burford

– Bass Guitar

Originally from the southern US, Howard Burford brings his love for music, wine, cars, and food to the stage as the bass guitarist for Fullhouse Band. With a laid-back attitude and a deep connection to Hawaii, Howard is partially retired but continues to play live music for the Big Island with passion and enthusiasm.

On the weekends, you can often find him at the Kona Wine Market, but when he’s not there, he’s on stage with Fullhouse, driving the rhythm that keeps the crowd moving.

Jim Ryan (a.k.a. Jimmy da Flash)

– Keys & Vocals

Jim Ryan began singing and playing instruments like the ukulele and mandolin when he was a child. By his teenage years, he had learned the clarinet, piano, and guitar. Before playing live music in Kona, Hawaii he played at a grange hall in rural Washington State at the age of 15. There he played songs like “Louie, Louie” and “Wipe Out.” Since then, Jim has played in various small rock ‘n roll bands, always staying true to his love of music.

In 2015, Jim and his wife Willie moved to the Big Island of Hawaii and recently celebrated 48 years of marriage. Now, Jim is part of the Fullhouse family, where he plays keys, contributes vocals, and brings decades of experience and enthusiasm to each of his Big Island live music performances.

Lisa Steinmueller

– Lead Female Vocal

The newest addition to Fullhouse, Lisa Steinmueller joined in November 2023 as the lead female vocalist after being discovered during a karaoke session. While rock ‘n roll is one of her favorite genres, Lisa’s musical background is deeply rooted in classical training.

She grew up singing opera, vocal jazz, and studied at the University of Toronto’s Royal Conservatory of Music, where she learned piano. Lisa can also play the flute and saxophone, and we’re fortunate that she now brings her vocal talents to Fullhouse performances in Kona.

Outside of music, Lisa has built an impressive professional career as a Professor of Nursing at Hawaii Pacific University and as a Family and Cardiology Nurse Practitioner.

Her comfort on stage and commitment to each rehearsal and gig come from her years of experience in healthcare, where she has grown confident in front of an audience. Lisa’s love for music continues to thrive as she takes the stage with Fullhouse, bringing powerful and dynamic performances to every show.

Dr Charlie Brown

– Full House Drummer

Some what traumatized by in unsuccessful attempt at the trombone, Charlie didn’t take on the drum kit until middle age. First gigs were with the hospital band where he worked as a (mostly trauma) surgeon. His move to Hawaii included about ten pieces of luggage, five of which were an electronic drum kit. I was lucky enough to jam with full house at a party close to 20 years ago and have been enjoying being their drummer ever since.

Mark Miller

– Lead Guitarist

Musician/artist Mark “the Shark” Miller (lead guitar) moved to the Big Island 30 years ago. Previous to his Hawaii move Mark “the Shark” was a member of the Surf Punks, and had an opportunity to play with a number of his heroes including Eddie Van Halen, Cheech Marin and Dennis Dragon. These days Mark plays with Full House and other Kona bands and still maintains his successful graphic design business Complete Art Service Hawaii.
